A Stronger Cord is dedicated to serving displaced men. These men come from all walks of life, colors and beliefs. We like to say, “It does not matter if Black, White or Brown, living in a mission, mansion or alley off Main Street. We all have a story.” Let’s learn from, and no longer be a victim of life’s unexpected twists. A Stronger Cord encourages participants to embrace the value of healthy relationships, community service and wellness.

A Stronger Cord’s spiritual foundation comes from King Solomon’s wisdom. Long ago Solomon warned traveling through life alone is perilous. We bond with others to give hope and confidence for the journey ahead knowing we are stronger when we support each other.
We reap a harvest when serving others.
A Stronger Cord encourages others to focus on giving. It is known, “The more we give, the more we receive.” Our “Service Saturdays” focus on venturing into the community and helping others. We work with men who receive many services and offering them a chance to serve others reaps a tremendous harvest.

Taking care of our bodies
A Stronger Cord believes “The stronger we are physically the stronger we are mentally.” This is especially important for those on the comeback trail who have abused their health. Scientific research shows that value of exercise in reducing stress and increasing mental well-being. We also believe exercise is a great connector.
